Checked oil in the sump, mostly oil but very thin, so petrol could be in the sump, but not worried about it. Took airbox off, put petol down the trumpets and managed to run the bike for about 20 secs, put tank back on without airbox and fired up bike, it ran with petrol still coming out of said hose, put finger over hose engine died instantly.

MattG I had the very same problem with my F4 this spring. If the carbfloats are stuck or the jets are clogged the fuel gets siphoned out of the carb bowl and goes through the air box and down that dump tube by your fairing. Im 99% sure that if you clean your carbs you will no longer have that problem. The gas looks nice and clean because it is, it is the gas that just left your tank and tried to get to the carbs.

Ok, today I had time today to work on my bike, tank and airbox off down to trumpets manged to fire it up and have it running at around 3500 rpm any lower it died, petrolstill coming out of bottom hose butvery little aroundtrumpets, before getting into getting carbs off to clean which looks like a serious job and very ackward, any pointers would be much appreciated, or is it just the case of biting the bullet and stripping the carbs................ How the fu*k do you get to them? It looks like you have to strip half the bike to even get to the hoses, that join the crank case.
