Default RE: HELP!! CCT!!!

no recall on the cctl as no one's life was endangered and the cctl's never actually failed, just got noisy.
however, many including myself have had honda regional managers ok changing to the NEW AND IMPROVED cctl (buahahahah) after 1 year warranty was up.

It's very common on the F3's as well. Also, it is a very simple install on the F3's, I've not changed one on the F4, but I know the bike well and I wouldn't see it being a problem. Neither would the F4i's to 2003. It's all pretty straightforward and takes almost any noise your bike makes away.

Always go with the manual CCT compared to the OEMhydraulic tensioners - which suck and fail. The manual tensioner is where it's at.
I've got an APE CCT in my garage just waiting on me to get out there and do it. Question is, is the write up posted for swapping on an F4I pretty close to the swap on an F2-F3? Thanks in advance.

Also, any tricks or tips you've got for doing the F3 is greatly appreciated!!

nope...the ones for the F2/F3 can be done in like 10 minutes...it's more open and WAY easier to get to.

I haven't changed out a CCT from an F4i yet. It took me less than ten minutes to change out the CCT on an F2 and F3. It is in the wide open on the right side of the bike just behind the cylinder. Just like what KidCr3nshaw, Tahoe SC, and ChanCBR said.
