but how do i tell if the crank is bad?

check for scarring, pits, endplay in rods, chances are if its bad, its going to be fairly noticeable.

Got it all back together now but now I'm leaking coolant from my oil cooler. any suggestions.?

did you replace the gasket? im 99% sure theres one there, and is everything torqued down to specs? and did you removed all the old residue from the old gasket so that it seals flat.?

Yeah everything's torqued down to specs there's no gasket but there is a little rubber ring that goes around it.
