i was riding a wheelie and hit rev limiter all of a sudden the bike started sounding real raspy and lost power like crazy ive got the bike torn down,pulled the head,the valves are still all seated,no hole in piston,timing still good,im stuck right now and dont want to go any deeper before i get some better suggestions.the bike sounded like a car does with a blown head gASKET then just died but prior to that it had really bad low end power and my dad said it kinda sounded like i had a floating lifter but that wasnt it either,,,,,HELP ANY INPUT IS BETTER THAN NONE AT THIS POINT

 

Not sure what year you have but I do know the 93-95 cbr900 are notorious for being oil starved when riding out long wheelies or hard acceleration, more likely to occur when the oil level is on the low side.

 

check your crank bearings and con bearings
chances are they are toast
have fun rebuilding the lower end

riding the bike in hooligan fashion like that most likely starved the motor of oil and you had a loss of lubrication

 

You gotta add an extra quart+ when holding wheelie on these bike...

 

check your gold pan

good looking out everyone i appreciate the input just a few quick questions:what should i check the "gold" pan for?any floaties or metal and/or stuff like that?and what do i look for or how do i determine if bearings are shot?of is is gonna be an obvious kind of damage?

but that sounds dead on in terms of it being oil starved cause when i checked the oil it was bout 1/2 quart low
