Head Stand... for the bike
I have a lot of vibration in the handle bars, which seems to even itself out when it's at a real high RPM. I'm thinking the CCT has something to do with this but I could also be finding "infinity" for the vibrations too. I'm saying infinity like in a projected image where it hits a point that it seems like it's non existant but truly there.
With this I'll be replacing my steering head bearings too so I need to buy a head stand for the bike. I'm going with the cheapy from eBay. It's brand new with a rear and front stand for about $110 w/ shipping.
My questions are:
Does the CCT sound like it'd probably be a cause for this problem? Going to replace it w/ the highly recommended APE but wanted an opinion.
Anyone had problems with a head stand bending since it was made by a 7 year old in China?
When I lift the bike with the head stand, should I put the rear one in first, or just leave it in gear and lift the front and life should be good.
I trust myself with a jack and a 4 wheeled 2 ton truck, but this two wheeled glory of a machine looks a little scary and normally the idea is to keep it on both wheels anyways...

Hey entity-unknown, I went the thrifty way with mine & have no regrets. Bought both front and rear stands sold by http://www.flyncycle.com/. They're called BikeTek and I did a little wrire-up with pictures so you can see what you'd get: LINK. I've had them since October 08 and are used regularly (weekly). They're holding up very well, and I don't have any fears of my bike ever falling, lol.
As with the CCT, I'll let someone experienced chime in with the OEM/APE query.

Funny I read your post right after I posted this. Tried a different search then all the sudden I find a straight review on the stands I was looking at buyin. Thanks for the response man!
One thing you could try is, to get the bike to speed (somewhere safe obviously). Get it to where it's vibrating then turn off the engine or pull the clutch in (reducing rpm). If the vibration persists, then it's likely the steering/suspension. If it does not, then it's probably engine related. Just a thought. From I've read, CCT issues are more related to noise & not a cause for vibration.

Doubt if it's the CCT but in any case Honda's chew them up.
Worn head stock bearings can be felt in a shuddering when you pull up to a stop with light braking.
Check that all your fairing mounts are tight, inc. mirrors. You may have a harmonic vibe.

Thanks all for your responses! I'm gonna give the road test thing a shot later on. I just got the stands Incognito wrote up about and I'm liking the rear. The front looks a bit scary but I'm sure when it's up, it will pivot at the right angle so it stays rather than collapses.
One thing about this front stand. The only point I see for a pin is inside the triple tree, but that needs to come off. Does this pin have another hole, maybe behind the radiator? Or am I gonna have to bust out my farm jack and pray?

BTW, don't know if you've seen this thread: https://cbrforum.com/forum/f4i-main-forum-11/loose-front-neck-90831/
On my bike the hole at the bottom is huge. It's right at the bottom of the triple tree. I could stick the handle bar inside it if I were to pull that off, so all the pins I have are too small but it supports it up just fine. The concern I have is that triple tree has to come off to replace my bearings. I know I could probably just tighten it and be done with it but I bought my bearings, and the ones in there are old. It sat outside in the Arizona weather so not much rain but there is rust in the center tube leading to the bolt mentioned in that article so I'm sure inside is rusted up along with the bearings. So I definitely would like to replace em since it might even help with the vibrations cuz I did notice I can pull forward and backwards on the bars and it makes a difference in sound, so it's gotta have some play. Also releasing the clutch while the vibrations are at their worst, didn't help so that says something non engine related as you were suggesting.
I've tried looking up a way to support it but I'm not seeing anyone say what to do, just support it and start pulling things off. I'm not really seeing a safe place for the hi-lift to go and I'm not really seeing a place to lift the bike up from the front by hand and relocate the stand as the triple tree drops to set it back down in the tube, and that's hoping the tube is clear for the pin to go in.
Is there a pin hole behind the triple tree on the frame that I could use or no?
Why's this gotta be such a PITA?

I believe you're just going to have to get innovative and use tow straps suspended from an engine hoist or ceiling beam. I don't think that hi-lift is very stable. As far as the stand being placed elsewhere on the bike; not likely.
