Default GPS mount?

I just got a GPS for christmas and I want to mount on my bike. I've looked around RAM mounts and some ebay mounts, but it looks like it could pop out of the mount if I hit a good bump. Just wondering what you guys are doing to secure it. Thanks!

i really dig the ram mounts for every thing. are you worried that the gps will disconect from the factory mount? my garmin has a fairly solid disconnect, i wood think depending on witch gps you have you could possibly install a small set screw to prevent disconnect. GL

I have had mine on the bike since I bought the GPS. All I have done is add alittle bit of plastic weld to the mount. The Garmin still is able to snap out and take it with me. I have done some great speeds on the bike with it mounted and done all types of roads. It never once came out on its own. I all did the USB power mount. Also if you search this forum there are some good post on doing this.

Hey Indiana Hurricane I've got the same Garmin Nuvi. Do you have a pic of the mount? That's kinda where I want to mount mine. Thanks!

Thanks, but his gps is mounted in the middle of the handle bars. The Ram Mount is on either one of the handle bars.

umm not completely true. Can be mounted on the bars but they have other mounting options too. they have one that fits into the hole in the steering neck. Another (like mine) that mounts at the upper tank mount.

I've just mounted mine in the steering neck, using a rubber expansion holder, which I made myself. Send me a PM and I'll talk you through making one. I have a 1340 Nuvi, and wife has a 250W Nuvi.

QUOTE PLAYFUL Another (like mine) that mounts at the upper tank mount
I'd be keen to see how that works, please
