These things are awesome. If you've got a 929, these are perfect. There adjustable, heavy duty, and they only cost $99 shipped. Got some pics. Oh yeah, It was my first time putting one on a stand, and the bike never even wabbled. Just a few measurements, adjustments for the swing arm, and it was up. I may have went a little far back on the swing arm, but I just wanted to see how they worked.

Spools are bolt on parts that bolt to the rear bottom of a swing if there are threaded holes to accept them. After installed they are the points where the rear stand lifts the bike. If your swing arm does not have the threaded holes then you have two choices. One, drill into the swing arm and use a device called a nutzert, not sure how to spell it, to have some place to bolt the spool to. Or two, most of the rear lift manufactures make rubber covered tabs the lift the swing arms with out spools from the bottom.

There was just a post on this exact question so try do a search of the forum for it.

If you still have a questions do a search on rear stands and rear stand spools or something like that. My bet is Pit Bull and the other stand companies will show many pictures.

The RR's have an odd swing arm. It's not the same height on both sides, the left/clutch side is about a half inch higher. So you can't safely use the universal type, you have to use the ones for spools. And in one of the trheads we have links to the nutserts Tribal is talking about. They make a kit so you can drill your swing arm and use nutserts to mount spools.

Here's the thread I'm talking about.

And a site to buy the kit.

I just bought a set and probably one of the best investments i made into the bike. I have to winterize my bike so they provide me with no wheel to cement contact in my garage. I have also realized they are amazing when doing work on the bike instead of just leaving it on the stand.
