Default Getting the Ignition Code! AHH

Hey everyone! Well about a week and half ago I had a party at my apartment and ended up taking some of my ambien, for those who don't know it's a sleep aid that makes you forget literally everything that happens while on it. I woke up with wet swim trunks next to my bed, and my only motorcycle key nowhere to be found. So I've been trying to find detailed instructions on getting the ignition code so I can drive to a Honda dealership and get a new key. All I've found is very basic info like remove the upper triple tree and get to the bottom of the key cylinder, but I don't know how. I was quoted $125 by a locksmith to make a new key without the code, but thats too expensive for me right now. I managed to remove the rear seat cylinder but apparently that code is useless. I'd like to only spend the $15 Honda charges, any info would be great! (How to get the upper triple off, ignition switch etc.) This is such a hassle!

Go to the dealer with your title. Should be able to look up the code via the VIN

down load a service manual (check the f4i section) and it should show you how to proceed. but yes i would start off with kuro-sans avice and take your title and reg to the dealer and see what help they can offer you 1st.

as for the ambien and heavy drinking ... gotta be careful .. who knows maybe one of your friends took the key because you were going to go show off on your bike whil under the influence ..

Yeah I get your point Havoc, it's more likely a girl who hates me stole them though. Are Dealers on some sort of network that shares that info? I'm the third owner and not sure what the original dealership is, might have to dig into that one.

Should work No probs. I lost the only key to my Subaru a few years back. Went to a Dealer with nothing more than a Title, and Identification, and they cut it right then and there 15 bux

The ignition code is located behind the ignition switch. If dealer can't help you take the ignition to a lock smith and they should be able to cut a with the code on back.
