Default gear shifting twice sound!

hi..
when i shift from 2nd gear to 3rd gear specifically..i can hear the sound twice on the lever for gear shifting.i mean..i can feel that i hear 'thump' 'thump' twice. is it because i shift the gears slowly? i feel something happening twice! is it normal? i mean..when i start off at a rage, i dont feel the lever making the sound twice coz at probably i shift very fast..but on normal pace, i feel the lever engaging twice before resting..please note the gears shift properly, no problems there, ..i just wanted to know if this is normal in all bikes..thanx.

Maybe you're shifting so slow and with out much authority that you feel a false nuetral on your way up.

Are you sure you're not double shifting? So instead of 2nd to 3rd, you're going 2nd to 4th. I know I've done that once.

Are you pulling the clutch in all the way becayse it could be where it is trying to engage, but the plates grind together because you arent disengaging the clutch enough??? Maybe??

Maybe your shift drum or shift fork is getting too worn?
The reverse pattern like Tahoe has pictured works well too for more positive up shifts. The only problem is when you jump on another bike that's set up normally, you get all out of whack.

mm..you are rite about sitting on a normal bike later on can feel a little odd but anyways..let me try out the other options,i may have developed some bad habits while shifting wrongly which makes this sound or a feeling of two clicks! mmm...strange very strange...

Just something to look at, but it may sound dumb but is your chain tightened to the correct tennsion, if a chain is to loose you will get the thump of the trainy and then when you take up the slack in the chain you will get a sencond thump. but your chain will have to be loose as h$ll.
