Ok I now have downloaded a manual... but it doesn't mention anything about when idling you can smell the radiator. Is this normal? I don't recall smelling that when I was riding my buddies R6. Has anyone experienced this? Is it a sign of a problem? Thanks.

 

You can smell the anti freeze? Sniff the exhaust. If you smell anti freeze then your leaking it inside your motor.

 

If there is a coolant leak that is making it's way into the exhaust, a cloud of steam will likely be coming out of the exhaust as well. A leaky head gasket could be the problem, if the combustion chambers look like they have been steam cleaned then that's probably what happened. If it's not coming from the exhaust, you might be smelling coolant that has made it's way into the coolant reservoir because there is a vent hose on that...

 

The smell comes straight up from the front of the bike. Start/warm my bike up.... smell it. Ride my bike come to a stop light/sign... smell it. Should I be smelling anything while the bike is running? Aside from maybe the exhaust if the wind is blowing it back my way. I have smelled my exhaust and not smelled that anti-freeze smell. Once my bike is warm (being that it is cold right now) there isn't any steam coming from my exhaust.
