Default Fuel Injection

I was wondering how the fuel injection system works on bikes. I am very familiar with car fuel injection and the part I have a problem with is that the bikes have no oxygen sensor. From what I understand the bikes use completely preset fuel maps. If they do this how do they compensate for changes in altitude? The biggest reason I ask is because my roommate got a power commander and downloaded a map for his setup. The power commander website does not say anything about high altitude setups. So basically they want you to believe that the same fuel map will work at sea level the same as at 6000 + feet. I find this hard to believe because of the lack of an oxygen sensor. If someone could please help me out with this I would be very happy. Thanks.

Default RE: Fuel Injection

What you're wondering about is true. I was told they are just preset, so when at higher altitude they need to be remapped to run efficiently. This is one reason a pc is recommended after installing an exhaust.
