Default Front Axle removal

Did a search on this but came up blank. I need to put a new tire on but am having trouble pulling the front axle. It's loose and spins but doesn't want to pull out. Any tricks or steps I need to follow? I did what the manual told me to do but that was vague at best.

remove nut, loosen pinch bolts... i'm sure you got that far.

take the weight if the front wheel off the axle and pull it out. you can use a rubber mallet to get it moving, but shouldn't take much. make sure to note the location and direction of the spacers.

Manual didn't say anything about the spacers??? My bike is a '96 600 F3 if that matters.

I got it. Couple of love taps with a mallet and she slid right out. Spacer were common sense one I had the wheel off. Thanks for the help.
