Default frame slider problem!!

I don't know if this is suppose to be a hard task to take the frame slider off but I couldn't get it out this morning. I'm in the process of taking all my fairings off to get them painted. It seems like there is something that hold the frame slider that make it won't come off. Or maybe the thread is dull? Any idea??

Can't you just slide the fairings over the slider? Seems to me like you should be able to as long as you removed the rest of the fasteners first.

Are you talking about the right side? If you don't have a two piece slider, the right side mounts deeper into the frame and has a pinch bolt that holds it in place. The frame wraps around the bolt then you tighten another bolt the pinches the frame around the bolt.

Let's establish what kind of frame slider you got first? Do you know the brand or can you post a pic?

I have Vortex ones which have a screw on puck and base. First I have to unscrew the puck off, then use an allen key to remove the bolt and base.

I believe I have a 2 piece vortrex slider. On the right side I already tried to unscrew it with the allen key and it won't come off and I noticed there is a bolt at the end and another one on the bike's frame. I tried to unscrew the bolt on the bike's frame but it won't unscrew all the way. Any idea? And how do i get the other side off?
Thanks!

Paul

i got the right side frame slider off(when you sit on the bike), BUT i couldn't get the other side off. Do I need to unsrew it for 30 minutes to take it off? Or is there any bolt on the other end? It's kinda hard to see the other end of this frame slider. Any idea?
Thanks!

Paul

Ok.... let me see if I'm reading this right. The clutch side will not come off and you are using a ratchet/socket and it just keeps turning? Hope about if you use a large pair of vice grips or channel locks and pull out on the slider puck while you turn the bolt.

Check for another bolt going towards the front of the bike- I had the same issue and come to find out it was bolted in another spot...
