Don't really know what good those are compared to normal sliders. That spring prolly wouldnt help much considering that when you go down, that spring will compress, giving you less clearance than stationary sliders would. If the bike goes down, it will do the same amount of damage with either slider. I mean those sliders look cool and all and more "high-tech", but they would serve the same as others would.

I'm no engineer, well not yet, couple more years, but simple physics shows how those springs could absorb quite a bit of energy if designed right. You do have a good point on clearance though, but it would be my guess that you would still get less damage.

Step 1--Take your bike and knock it over while it is standing still. Note the damage.

Step 2--Install frame sliders.

Step 3--Knock your bike over on the other side.

Step 4--Sigh with relief cause you just saved yourself an ***-load of money to repair side #2!!!!!!!!

Hope this helps!!

+1

I put some vortex frame sliders on my bikewhen I got it. ANd I am glad I did. I dropped for the first time recently at a stop (me being a newbie forgot to put my feet down) and the only damage to the bike was a little scuff n the slider, and a small scuff on the muffler. So small that the average eye wouldnt catch it. They are well worth the money!

LOL I can honestly say that I have never forgotten to put my feet down while sitting still.

any good ideas where to get sliders? I was thinking to go without cutting the plastics and I have seen both options. What has everyone else gone with?

Frame sliders do what they were designed to do....let the bike slide with out damaging the engine. If the bike goes cartwheeling down the street it's open season on. Don't expect them to save anything going end over end.
