Default FRAM Filter question

Hi All,

I went to the FRAM site to look up the filter for my 2002 Honda CBR 954RR and it showed the Automotive filter PH6607. I went to WalMart and ended up getting the TG6607 but started wondering if this is accurate or am I supposed to use a different filter for my bike. Does anyone have any input in this area? Thank you.

Here's a good article regarding oil filters (and oil). Link and link From my understanding, you want to make sure you have proper flow ratio and that the cut-off valve works within thespecified pressure (if that makes sense).

Hey Joe ~ I think you may want to double check that filter. PH6017A is the filter you want. The one you have has 20mmx1.5mm threads, which is the right size, but the outer diameter is larger than theOD of the suggested filter. It may work, just double check the fit.

6607- OD 2.84" (bigger than)
6017- OD 2.69"
NAPA PS1358 - OD 2.685" (what I use)

Fram is junk now a days, they used to be great filters 10 years ago but then they got cheap, it ain't worth it and I would never put one any vehicle I own, I've personally seen 2 collapse on 2 different vehicles
