Did the garage let you know it was worn before? I would be a little pissed if I just paid someone to fix something and its not fixed. If they knew it was worn, they should have told you before they even attempted to fix it. Saying its worn is kind of vaug too.

Is the diameter worn?
is it worn with scratches that are too deep?
Did they polish out the stratches?

if its scratches and they are minor, you can polish the tube so you get a good seal.

My guess is the garage just threw new seals in without doing any prep work.

If they are too bad to fix, I would watch ebay for a good used set.

Thanks mate ,they do seem to have been a little vague ,ive had a look at the stanssion and i cant seem to see any signs of wear other than what looks like a stone chip right at the top of the forks ,and allso cant feel anything to touch seems quite smooth ,so i might try your polishing idea, thanks.
