first time down, how do i fix it???
My 07 1k is my first bike and some a$$ locked up there brakes which caused me to do the same. well i went head over handle bars and the bike stood on the front tire until it fell on the left side HARD. My sliders and rear spools saved me alot of bike damage but The part of the swing arm that the rear spools bolts to is now worthless. it appears to be welded to the swing arm. But does anyone know if this is fixable or how to use a rear swing arm lift without it?? i tried to post pictures but it says file is to large. Thanks in advance and yea other than some bruising i am ok.
So you want to lift the rear but can't because the rear stand doesn't have anywhere to lift the bike? That's what it sounds like.
Take a few ratcheting tie down straps and rig it up in a garage...that'll suspend the bike without using the swingarm, pull the swingarm and pitch it for a used one, there's a ton of em on ebay and they are pretty reasonably priced. If not that then you could probably fix it by taking it off and taking it somewhere to have have the spool thing welded on or something, I don't know much about those bikes

I tend to agree with the X on this one, but in regards to your question.
It can be fixed easily and cheaply by an aluminum welder. he can weld the bunghole back on, or just weld a nut on. should be very cheap, like a couple of beers cheap. but you may need to repaint.
or, but another swingarm and replace

I disagree with X because the guy cut in front of me and slammed on his brakes(he was trying to get into the turn lane next to me but he got to my lane and saw he couldn't without hitting another car). but thanks for the worthwhile input Krash and weasel. Oh yea i still blame the person in front of me giving the situation. Remember Stupid hurts(that includes stupid people driving cars). What kind of shop would have an aluminum welder??? I work in a muffler shop and weld steel all day but have never had any experiance with aluminum welding. Thanks.
Call some machine shops see if they or anyone they know can do aluminum TIG welding (i believe it's called)
Yep, people who drive cars sure can be asshats. Makes me wish our bikes came with stock rocket launchers and machine guns, with live ammunition of course. Then I wonder how many of these ******** would cut in front of us. Ah well. I hope you can fix your bike and heal up.

A picture would really help. I think our posts have to be 200K or less, set up something like a photobucket account, then link it to that. If the file is too large and you don't have a specific piece of software to shrink it, outlook express will do it for you when you email it to yourself. After that there may be some good ideas for you.
Yea but to be honest because it was very expensive so i chose a crappy plan, if i can out of pocket a few hundred bucks to fix then its not worth the insurance claim. I tried posting pictures up but my camera take huge pictures and it wont let me post them. so i used photobucket. hope it helps.
