Default Fan question??

Ok I just got a 2003 cbr 600 rr from a shop, it has a salvage title cause there was a flood in the shop but the bike runs great and has never been laid down, Now i noticed today that it was leaking coolant so i looked from where it was coming from, i noticed it was coming from the one hose near the radiator, so i tightened it down and now thats fine but i noticed my fan has not kicked on yet, i let my bike run in the garage for about 5 to 10 minutes or so and didnt see the fan come on, now when i try to spin the fan it seems that its rubbing against something, like its not spinning freely, should i just get a used fan assembly or what? Also where do i check the fuse at, i didnt get a manual with the bike so if you guys can give me your input here i would appreciate it very much. Thanks

Mine doesn't kick on until 222-225. They get a little warm before turning the fan on!

no mang...you need to check to see at what temp your running at.
take the fan and connect it directly to a power source and you'll know if it works or not.

also, if you are boiling your coolant, then that means that you don't have a pressurized system.
either get a temp guage and run it plugged into your radiator (get the wire one so you can close the cap otherwise coolant will boil when system is not pressurized).

it's very possible that you just haven't gotten the bike up to temp.

Listen to Tahoe - he's the cooling guru.
Hook the fan motor up to the battery or another 12 volt power source and see if it runs. If not you know you hve issues with the motor.

However, with nothing else working I would say you have serious electrical issues. Get a manual - tear it down and get to work. You are in for a learning experience.
