fairing, body, and engine work?
just got my first F4i. i been riding it alot and love it.
i bought it off a kid that put it down around a corner and talked him down really cheap.
anyway the fairings are pretty scuffed up on the left side. the left mirror is missing, the tale is cracked, and the front fairing is scratched good and a slight crack.
anyway, im really good with fiberglass and painting so i wana try to touch this stuff up myself. just wondering what you guys would do for paint and prep before i do this.
btw. its aftermarket fairings so they are a little thinner and not the hard durable plastic of a stock fairing. and he painted them all mat black with spray paint. ( it actually looks good tho and id like to keep it that color.)
so my idea is to sand them all down back to the base. primer it, clean it apply a few coats till it looks thick. then maybe wet sand and clear coat it to give it more shine then it had before. anyone have any step by step. or paint selection you use?
i wana paint the engine case too, but that is obviously going to need high temperature paint.
thanks guys
