Default F4i won't start

I have a 03 f4i with 5700 miles on the clock. I started it last friday and it fired right up, but then i came out an hour later to try and start it up and nothing happened. I tried to start it agian today and still nothing. I get crank, electric, fuses are fine, fuel pump is working. The fuel is about a month old, battery sucks but was attached to a jumper, it will crank and crank but not fire up. the weather here has been in the mid to low 20's for awhile. any help would be great I am trying to sell it and i have a buyer just waiting for it to start.

Does it crank hard or does it slowly get softer/lighter? I'd be willing to bet it something with the battery or starterbeing bad, because it wouldn't have started earlier if there was anything seriously wrong. Hard to say tho.

no, the crank stays stedy. doesn't ever lose speed. sounds like it just needs a kick to start up.

so when you jump your bike it still wont turn over ? were you having any trouble with your bike starting before this happened ? im talking about slow starts , having to crank it a few extra times before it finally started up ? on my f3 i had to chnage my stator, battery and regulator because 1 started to fail which lead to the others going bad, fixed one without knowing the others condtion and just ultimatley had to replace all 3 items. hopefully your problem will be an easy fix

no, I have never had a problem starting the bike before. when i changed the filter i checked the plugs and they looked normal. the only thing that has been changed is the fuel pump. i had to change it when i bought it becasue it sat for so long, but that was in april of last year.

hmmm have you ever notice the regulator getting really hot ? i know its a big problem with the F2,F3,F4/900 so it might have gone out on your bike as well. ... but the really weird part is that when you jumped the bike it still didnt start. because if it was just your battery or regulator it should've still started... so im at a loss ... how did you jump it?
