F4i vs 600RR
Well this is my firts post and I would like to say that you have a great site and I plan on being here for a while.
I did a search on here to try to compare these 2 bikes but didn't come up with anything. I'm going to be buying a newer bike in the spring and would like to get one of these 2 bikes, the 2001-02 F4i or the 2003-05 600RR. I have read some reviews that have said that the f4i is a little more ergo than the 600RR but other than that I haven't found anything. I can get a pretty good deal on either bike right now, but there is a 600RR about an hour away that I can buy in the spring for a really good deal. I just would like to know if there are any problem that I should look out for on these bikes, which one would make a better bike to ride for long distances, and which is more reliable. Also does anyone have a cockpit view of the 600RR? I would like to see how the guages compare to the F4i. Thanks in advance.

if you want to ride long distance, f4i is more suited for that than the RR. as far as performance...not a comparison.
F4i isn't bred for the track but the RR is.
as far as reliability, both are great. so it's up to your taste basically and also what you want out of the bike. if you're mr. track, then straight up RR...if you're cruiser here and there and sometimes track...f4i.

Hello & Welcome!! There are posts all over this about the bikes, but it all depends on how you feel on the bikes. Go with what is best for you, not what people tell you is the best.
Good luck with your choices.
Good luck with your choices.
There are a handful of things to consider: the '05-'06 RR was updated, thus having better brakes & forks than the '03-'04 model. There were other minor changes as well. So it goes without saying if you have a choice you'd want a '05-'06.
The seat on the F4i is not the most comfortable one, whilst earlier F3 & F4 were OK.
If you're on the average to smaller build size either bike will be fine; if you are on the lanky side of things than the RR may slightly be cramped. I'm 5'-11" tall and have no worries fitting the RR.[sm=smiley33.gif]
You might want to consider putting a new aftermarket seat/double-bubble/adjustable rearsets on your Christmas List now for the model that you will get. As these are items I consider as a must modify for any new bike.[sm=drooldude.gif] I NEVER leave a bike stock... you may be of a vastly different mind set.
I have a friend that has a '05 600RR and I've done about 150 miles at one time on it - no worries/complaints.
I have a '05 1000RR and did 1950 miles in ten days on it; I average about 12,000 per annum. So, in other words I ride a lot/and ride it for many hours/miles at a time. Contrary to what some say, I think these bikes are very capable sport (spint) touring machines.[sm=shades.gif]
The RR is a vastly better engineered bike... it's simply the next progression in CBR 600 evolution.
Cheers
