Nice machine, I had a silver 05 as well. It was a lovely bike.
Did you manage to look at the Fi fault codes?

Didnt had much time with it but here what i saw.
Before ride, on idle, it started to blink with eacual flashes, no longer or shorter ones. On ride got lit constantly, no flashes and stayed on until i stoped and started the engine, and then gone

By jumping the Service Check Connector and then turning the Ignition Switch to on and the Engine Stop Switch to Run, if there are any MIL codes in memory, it will blink them. If there are none, the MIL light will come on and stay on. The MIL light will not blink if the engine is running.
