Engine Stop Switch

Engine Stop Switch
I recently bought a 2007 CBR600RR. I took it out for a ride last week and when I parked the bike I accidently turned the Engine Stop Switch OFF. The bike sat for a week... and now it won't turn over. It acts like the battery is drained. When I hit the starter it just clicks (ticks) really fast. I read in my owners manual that the engine stop switch should normally remain in the run position even when the engine is off. Is it feasible that by turning the Engine Stop Switch to the off position that it drained my battery or do I have a different problem? What should be my next step? Thanks for your help.

The only way your battery would drain is if you left the ignition on, you have a parasitic draw from somewhere else, or you battery is just dead from sitting so long.
It's most likely either a decent battery that's just totally drained, or you need a new battery.
What I would do is charge the battery to max and see how it does. If it's still not taking a charge right, or its discharging quickly, get a new one. Many people also hook up a battery tender to their bikes.
Remember also, that most bikes don't charge the battery at idle. (like a car would). You actually need to have some rpms to get a good charge to it.(3k+)
If it's deeply discharged, this can take a lot of riding.
