do some searches...you can mod the OEM so it doen't get all loose and make noise.
one thing you can do is flare or change the pin located at the tip of the cctl. this will get rid of noise from the rattling. second, you can would the spring inside the cctl once or twice to give it some more tension.

also, the OEM cctl actually does have a manual function...if you take off the bolt at the rear of it and then stick a small flathead driver in there and turn counter clockwise, it actually extends the tip of the cctl!

note, the cctl is designed not to back out...so it can only go forward...

There's really no reason to keep the OEM tensioner in the bike, in all honesty. We all know it's going to start losing it's tensioning ability, so screw it.

Buy the $50 part and replace it now.

there are pluses and minuses to both parts...so don't clown either one.

if you study the part and take a look at the design, you can correct the flaws yourself.

OEM can adjust like a manual.

My buzzing noise sounds like it's coming from the dash?

Thanks for all of the info, Tahoe is there anyway that you can post a pic of the CCT and the actual screw that you are talking about? I do not even know what the CCT looks like! Thanks
