Default Engine ID number, a confirmation please...

Hello everybody,

I just checked my engine ID number, and it's like this:

PC25E-22.....

Does this mean it's coming from a CBR600F2 dated 1993?

This is a picture of the thing:

Thanks in advance for your help!
Regards,
Kieme

I was hoping to help, but my Haynes manual covers the later models from 1999 to 2006. Engine nos start with PC35E-22000001 which signifies a 1999 model. Sounds like the number you provided probably is a 1993 model but you need to see if any other members reply to be sure.

According to my manual, it is a 1993 engine.

Clymer manual agrees. 1993. Doesn't looks like a California smog motor, which I wouldn't expect to have made it down under anyhow.

Thank you all for your replies.

Since it's a 1993 engine, will a CBR600F2 1991-1994 service manual do the trick or shall I search for a better manual as reference?

Regards,
Kieme

The F2 motors are the same from 91-94 - no differences in the 93 model from other years. You should be good to go.

As you don't specify your bike model/year I can only tell you where the Haynes manual shows the engine no for 1999-2006 models. It is on the top of the crankcase on the left hand side of the engine The monoshock is just above the point where the engine no is. Look beyond the drive chain and you should see it. If your bike is older than 1999, then I'm not sure. Your handbook (if you have it) should tell you where it is also.
