Default electrical problem 2004 CBR1000

I rode my bike in a heavy rain and the power would go in and out at the tail end of my ride through the rain. After I rode it in the rain I barely got it started several days later and then it stalled going about 15 MPH. I was able to jump start it and ride it another 1/4 mile and then it stalled out again. Now the bike will not start at all. I turn the key and the lights come on and I can hear the fuel injection, but the motor will not kick over at all once I press the start button. The headlights go dim once I press the start button too. I put a new, fully charged battery in it and I still get the same thing; lights come on, fuel injection initializes but no kick over or any kind of peep at all from the motor. I checked both sets of fuses per the manual and they all look fine.

Any ideas?

should have checked your safety switches first... actually you should have charged your battery before getting a new one. that was really dumb.

so to help, i have a question. well, probably a series of questions.

First up: are you hearing any loud clicks coming from under your seat when you press the starter button?

Thanks for the reply. The new battery was actually bought before this happened now that I think about it. I just pulled the new battery out to make sure it was holding a charge and put it on a trickle charger. It holds a charge okay. Actually, the stupid thing was paying around $120 forthe new batteryat the Honda Stealershipin Avon, Ohio! I didn't feel like shopping around and just wanted to get one while I was out and about.

There are no loud clicks from under the seat when pressing the starter button.
