Anyone know what a code 33 is in a 2018 cbr100rr?
was riding around the neighborhood yesterday and engine light came on. Under the DTC setting on the the bike it tells me it's a code 33. I am about to take it on a long ride trip and want to make sure my bike is in proper order.

DTC code 33 appears to be "EEPROM error" in ECU. Might be problematic, diag test is to swap in known-good ECU.

 

So I have found that a 33-2 is an eprom code but I don't have a blinking engine light nor does the DTC say 33-2 so I was a bit confused on it. Bike only has 7000 miles on it and it does seem to still run top notch but won't give me a temp reading because the engine light bar coves that on the display. Thanks for the input, I am understanding that buying an ECU would correct the issue but just a strange thing to fail out of nowhere like that isn't it? Also in your opinion should I go buy an oem ECU or should I try to get a good flashed ecu. Thanks agy

 

Might send it to get flashed 1st with good tune. Can't hurt, especially if you have to replace it. Very odd failure with no repair path other than to replace
