i have 93 f-2, had the bike apart, fairings ,seat, tank, etc... all off for working on the bike, tune up and all . heres my qeustion i noticed a small flat box under the seat area and it says"Viper" auto secuirity systems model#300, is this a bike alarm or antitheft device ?????? i dont find anything in the maneul covering this as a stock item. the guy who sold me the bike did not mention a sec sys on the bike also i noticed a red wire in the battery case thats not connected to the battery, it looks like it could be comming from this box so "do i have one" ???? or what is it ???

Sounds like someone installed a Viper alarm on your bike at some point. The previous owner probably lost the key fob or the batterys went dead and he couldn't deactivate the alarm so he just unhooked it. If ou can look up the serial# on the alarm you might be able to get a hold of Viper and get a new key fob. Thats just what I think, pretty sure they never came with an alarm from the factory.

I would try to look up Viper's phone number or email them and ask if its an alarm or anti-theft device.

LOL yeah its the clicky thing that activates your alarm.
