Default DMP stand

Anybody use these stands? What do you think of them? They are about half the price of the pit bull so that's why they are appealing. Should I buy them?

thanks!

I have that front stand and it works as advertised. I live about 5 miles from www.ironpony.com and personally compared the DMP to the Pit Bull and saw no major differences. In fact the DMP front stand comes with the different fittings that go up into the neck the bike. Not only is the Pit Bull by itself is more expensive they make you buy the specific fitting for your bike separately. The rear stand I use is made by a company called Cycle Cat, who coincidentally is also located in Columbus, OH. It costs a little more but if you check out the below link you will see why. I gladly paid the extra money to have piece of mind that I wouldn’t drop my new bike. I even tested it by letting my 11 year old daughter lift it by herself and she did so with no problem.

I had wondered if it requires two people to put a bike on the stand. One to hold the bike vertical and one to operate the rear stand. Same to be true to take it off the stand?

i usually try and have somebody there incase of the unspeakable happening. but it can be done by one person. and you dont need to hold it upright to raise it. if you're carefull, you can slowly raise the bike off the sidestand without much difficulty.

you may want to hold off. the 929 has an offset swingarm (one side is lower than the other). i would call the company and see if they will work on your bike. i had to get an adapter. not a big deal but something you DEFINATELY need to check into. and there is no drilling involved unless you want to add spools.

I've just ordered a set of stands from Checkered Flag Motorsports. I'll let y'all know when I get them and if I'm impressed with them.

Can you use it without spools? I thought spools were a must. what about the front? I appreciate the input guys, but as you can tell, I'm running blind. thanks again
