Dim Headlight

Dim Headlight
I recently got my 2000 CBR 929 out from winter storage, of course needing to jump it a few times, but as weather got warmer it started and continues to start fine. However, I started it a couple weeks ago and, while running, the headlight was very dim and all four blinkers stayed on continuously without blinking and it has stayed like that ever since. The blinker and the headlight on the display panel do not work either. I checked the battery connections and checked to fuses everything appeared to be normal. Do i need to tear into the wiring next? any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

You below freezing there? Had a similiar problem on an old bike I had one year. Had a wire thats insulation was cracked, well some moisture/condesation got on the bike due to where I stored it and the part of wire with the crack ended up froze to the frame. Was shorting the lights out. That bike had a steel frame though, not aluminum. I'd check the wiring, pretty much all of your lights run off or connect to the same wire, if one of them is shorting out somehow somewhere then all of them would be under powered. Also, considering the blinker behavior I'd check the blinker switch and make sure its not shorted or whatnot.

how did you jump it? Hopefully you didnt jump it with your car or a high am charger. Overloading your system will lead to all sorts of electrical issues. these systems are 12 volt, but they are low amp systems and cant take alot of amps running through them.
that being said, I would start with the battery. Have it load tested. Its possible the battery is internally shorted. It happens quite often. the battery will still show good voltage, but as soon as its put a tested, it will show if its shorted or not. I think autozone does it for free.
If its not that, I would think its a bad ground connection somewhere. I would take a jumper wire from the ground of your battery and hook it up to the ground of your headlight and see if it improves.
