I bought the bike like this so I don't know what happened, but is it possible to pop out this dent on the exhaust? Also, is it worth it to spend the money or should I leave as is?

 

just cut the pipe into a shorty that will get rid of the dent, make it look better and sound good too

 

Those slip-ons are re-buildable. You can take it apart and either put a new sleeve on it, or try and smooth the dent out. Here’s a video. I’d try the latter first, and if that don’t work, get a new one, or do as Havoc suggested.

 

I can't think of a way to smooth this dent out. And also, how do I make a shorty? Literally just cut the pipe?

 

yeah you could cut the pipe. but first I'd attempt to use a piece of 1x1 wood on the inside of the can, and push the dent out carefully, then if that fails you could cut it into a shorty.

 

I'll try that. As for the shorty, I've looked at some pictures and videos and it seems like people have different versions of their own shorties. I'm not sure if I'm getting this right. If I were to do it, I cut the pipe and just leave out the can completely? or were you guys meaning to tell me to cut a section of the can and re rivet it?

 

A length of metal pipe put inside the sleeve, and rolledback & forth with downward pressureon astraight surface mightwork too. Definitely quite a little project you got there.

take the pipe off. find a chop saw. cut right above the dent or shorter if you want. take the end cap (closest to the mid pipe) pop off the rivets then drill new holes on the shortened pipe and re rivet. re mount and enjoy.

 

Smaller=louder right?
