Default Deceleration "Clunk" on CBR600F2

I have recently started to notice that when I let off the gas abruptly on my 1993 CBR600F2, I feel a significant "clunk", mostly in first gear. At higher speeds (2nd gear on up) I do not feel this. I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience and could tell me what the cause/problem is? Could it be the cush drive is shot? The bike looks and runs perfect otherwise but does have 41K miles on it albeit fairly easy miles. It is quite annoying and and the clunk is not a pleasant thing to feel so I find myself decelerating slowly and smoothly to avoid it (inotherwords, I roll of the gas easily). I have other bikes and they do not do this under any decelerating condition (hard or easy). I certainly hope it's not a transmission issue????? Thanks for your replies. If you'd like, you can e-mail me directly at gpz4jp@aol.com. Appreciate the help!!!

I personally have no clue, but could you elaborate a bit more?

Good call on the cush drive. Are all of the motor mounts in good shape and torqued down ? Any play in your swingarm ? If you have a stand, can you put it in gear and reproduce the noise by moving the wheel forcefully by hand ? ( I didn`t have a stand in my F3 days but would have a friend pull it up on the kickstand to get the wheel off the ground...)

I agree with Roxy in checking the motor mounts first. Then I would check the drive chain. See if it's worn, or too loose and hitting something. Also check the sprockets and see if they are tight.
