Default Damn Octane Boost!

Wondering if anybody can help me.. I have a 1996 CBR600 F3 with 22,400 miles. I heard a knocking noise coming from engine at idle since my last fillup of gas. The noise would increase as throttle increased to about 2,000 rpm but above 2 grand it would diminish. I thought maybe the gas attendant gave me regular unlead by mistake so I put some 104+ octane boost hoping to rid of knock. I did this without advancing timing. Afterwards knock was still there and the bike lost its snap and started backfiring and hesitating and now I cant even start it. I'm wondering if the plugs got fouled up and I'm hoping nothing else serious happened. Has anyone put octane boost in their bike before w/o advancing timing? My motor is basically stock except for pipe and carb work. I've since read that octane boost leaves alot of carbon deposits and can harm pistons, valves, and plugs? I ran bike for about 10 miles w/ octane booster before it died. I'm thinking now that the knocking noise I heard might be a bad rod bearing. Does anybody have any ideas as to what the noise could be from and how can I can my F3 flying again after this seems like octane boost disaster?

I heard never to put octane boost into a bike at all. Anyways, If it was the octane boost that is killing it than I would drain the tank and replace the fuel filter. I dont know anything about the pinging you are hearing.

I have run the octane boost befor in my 600rr and all it did was load up and back fire a few times it was kinda neat trowing flams out the back but that is about all. How is your oil level? could be something serious i would get it checked out if i was you.. good luck THE KID

drain the tank and change the fuel filter. as for the knocking i had that problem in a truck low r's it would knock when you got up over 2500 it would be smooth as a babys ***. turned out that the rod had worn around the wrist pin and it threw a rod, i drove it like that not knowing what was going on, but i would reccomend getting that checked out.
