Default clutch on 2006 600rr

Yeah you are reading it right i am having clutch problems on my 600 rr. It is slipping real bad in 6th but a little in all gears. What clutches are better and is anyone else having this problem? It has 7500 miles on it and it seems a little premature

It may be premature as I have 23xxx on my 900 stock clutch. Wheelies, dragracing, etc will accelerate wear on a clutches. Just FYI. Barnett seems to be the ticket if you're having problems. May just need stiffer springs, but that also will require dissasembly to see how the steels and frictions look.

7500 miles on an 06? wow. You must be beating the hell out of that thing to go through a clutch that quick. If not maybe you just got a bad one from the factory. Personally I like barnett kits. They are a bit stiffer but that gives you a better clamping force to so hopefully it'll last longer than 7500 miles for you. Personally I have 15k on my f3's stock clutch but will most likely be replacing it with a barnett this winter.

My first question would be how much freeplay do you have in your clutch lever? If you can't fit a nickel between the lever and the clutch perch before the clutch begins to disengage, your clutch cable is too tight and the clutch never fully disengages. This will lead to premature clutch plate wear which will cause slipping in all gears (primarily at higher rpms). You may be able to give it a little slack and maybe there hasn't been too much damage done. Otherwise, sounds like too many burnouts perhaps?[&:] This obviously wears out your drive (fiber) clutch plates, reducing grip. As for your warranty question, no it will not be covered by warranty. It doesn't cover wearable items (clutches, brakes, tires, chains, etc.). Unless you can difinitively prove that it was bad craftsmanship and not smoking tires, its coming out of your pocket. Barnett makes fine clutches. You may think about swapping to kevlar plates & stiff springs but I've heard conflicting reports from the kevlars.
