It's difficult to diagnose a sound via the Internet. That being said, when you adjusted the tension, did you adjust both sides evenly, like 1/8th turn for each side of bike ? There is a rubber cushion the rides under the chain and is wrapped around the lead edge of the swingarm. I would check that to make sure its properly in place. How is the lubrication on the chain ?

How old is the chain? Just from what I can see in the pic, it looks like there is quite a bit of wear on the counter sprocket and the chain itself doesn't look that great. If it is just the quality of the pic, then I would start with really cleaning that chain good, then go back and lube it, last check the play again. How far are the adjusters turned in? Is it indicating that you are close to or in need of a new chain?

Ya that front sprocket looks well worn and the chain has seem some use too......new chain and sprockets front and back imo

Give the chain a rub down with kero, see how it look after that. Might need new chain and spockets though.

Yeah it'd take a lot more and a lot longer to mess up the trans. Like we said before new
chain and sprockets
