Just wondering if anyonw has any experience getting the 929 engine rebuilt?
The gearbox sounds klunky in the first two gears. Someone told me these things are a real pain to rebuild.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Man I will tell you what I have been told, unless you just have a lot of money you dont mind getting rid of, this all depends on how bad or if any of the gears are grabbing but just ride it until something brakes. with shop time and depending on parts that need to be replaced you are looking at 1000 to 3000 to rebuild it. good luck.
Mine makes some bad klunking sounds when I down shift but I also dont have the cash for a rebuild so I ride it but I wouldn't race it like that.

 

yeah, my first gear is rough just shifting into it....but everything else seems fine so i'll wait till it gets worse

 

Mine clunks when dropping into first....my car also grinds dropping into first bad synchro maybe? Plus a lilttle clunk is normal on every bike i know of
