Question Cbr 125 (2011) Problems

Hello Fello Cbr Owners, My name is Tom im 19 and been riding nothing but honda bikes since i was 16 my current bike is the 2011 cbr 125, Im new to the forums

Also im here as i am so stressed out at trying to figure out a problem with my poor little bike.

I recently rode through a deep puddle ( car had full beams i had no idea it was there ) Then 10 mins later on my journey my bike cut out no power from the battery what so ever and i ended up pushing it home.

I let my bike dry out in the garage and i also changed the oil and spark plug just incase, my bike starts but now has cut out issues when idling and slowing down when in use, and will sometimes cut out and whole battery appears to drain instantly I think there may be a short somewhere but i have no idea where to find one the bike is EFI so no chance of cleaning a carb out for a fix
oh and i also cleaned the air filter out (K&N = clean oil and reuse (Y)) .

Anyone familiar with an EFI system cutting out or shorts or anything that could of accured due to riding through water?

Thankyou! i need my bike for work and dont want to take to a garage to charge a fortune if its an easy fix thank-you in advance

When it cuts out does all of the electrical (gauges, lights, etc) cut out or just the engine? When you say the whole battery appears to drain instantly it sounds like an electrical problem, so the first things I would check are the condition of the battery (load test) and its terminal connections. It could also be moisture in almost any of the connectors that got wet which can cause a short internally in that connector.

I'm not familiar with that specific bike, but considering it's EFI there should be a way to check the computer for diagnostic codes also which would be a good starting point.
