Cbr 1000rr clutch.. Please Help
Hello.I have a 2006 cbr 100rr. I droppedit and broke the clutch master cylinder. I bought a new one and replaced it. I can't seem to get my clutch lever to engage. It's like theres no pressure. Do i have to bleed it? If so how. Can anyone help?
Yes, you have to bleed. Its the same as if you'd bleed the brakes. Get a hand vac, it helps. If you don't have one you can just pump the lever but it will take longer.
Keep a rag handy, you'll use brake fluid and it takes paint off like you wouldn't believe. I also recommend having some contact cleaner ready.
1. Replace all parts.
2.Fill the resevoir.
3. Connect clear hose with a cupto the bleeder down where the clutch line attaches to the left side engine cover.
4.Open bleeder at least one full turn.
5.Start sucking with the hand vac or pump the clutch lever and hold it in.
6a. If using a hand vac, keep sucking until you don't get any more bubbles, then close the bleeder. DON'T let the res go empty. Go to step 8.
6b. If pumping the lever, while keeping the lever pulled in close the bleeder.
7. Release lever and repeat 5, 6b until no air comes out the hose. Should take a dozen or so pumps.
8. While pulling the lever in, crack the bleeder at the master cylindera little bit to let any air bubbles out. Tighten bleeder.
Done.
