Default CBR 1000RR 05' no strart

The Last time I started my 05' CBR1000RR was maybe 3 weeks agoand it started just fine. Tonight I tried to start it and Inoticed when Iturned key on, the fuel pump did not engage and the bike would just crank and crank but not start. So obviously the fuelpumpwent bad.....the bike has only 5800 miles on it.

Please advise.

Thanks.

not necessarily, the bike is fuel injected and if your battery has been drained to the point that it can't support running the fuel injection it will just crank. Charge the battery and give it another shot.

Thanks, I will try that....by the way, can I jump itwith the car jumper or it is to strong? car jumper is 12v and the bike batt is 6v I think, not sure about that.

Please advise

I wouldn't jump it with a car, it could fry ur ECU and skrew up your electrical system especialy with the wrong voltage. Are you sure its a 6v? I'm pretty sure everything is 12v, but I could be wrong. So definetly check that, go out and buy a trickle charger, well worth the money, 12v 1-2amp should be fine or 6v if you battery is 6v.

Both systems are 12v but in most cases the car will fry up your bike because the car puts out way more CCA's

ORIGINAL: D2MEclipseGT_600RR

car puts out way more CCA's
That's what most people don't think about!

Yeah - a trickle charger is like what, $17? Good investment.

takes much less juice to prime the lines with the pump than to turn over the bike! if you can get it to crank but don't hear the pump come on first...there is enough juice to power the pump!
check the pump fuse.

I;ve got the exact same problem with my 05 1000rr, it just keeps turning but wont start. I pop started it the other day and it worked fine, but then wont fire the next day. I've been told by my bike shop that I just need to charge it overnight and it'll be fine.
