Default cbr 1000f oil pressure question

I have a 94 1000f that I just bought. Shows 15000 on the OD. I know the trick about buying a new inst. cluster with low miles and swapping before the sale. Anyway with 20 w 50 oil at 95 ambient temp I got an oil light at idle. Question: what is the low pressure limit at idle in psi. Im going to mount a manual guage to monitor the pressure. The bike is not running hot, also not hearing ANY cam chain noise. WTF

Why such a heavy weight oil? That could be the problem. The owner's manual probably specifies 10W-30 or at the most 10W-40.

It's certainly possible there is an issue with the oil pump. The specifications are 85 - 100 PSI @ 5000 RPM. It doesn't give a spec for idle. As for oil viscosity, the heavier oil would create greater pressure due to is higher viscosity. 10w-40 is the recommended weight, but if your're above freezing, 20w-50 or 20w-40 is fine. Below freezing temps you can go down to 10w-30 but only if you don't get above 90 degrees F.

Installed oil pressure gauge yesterday. First start up,cold,80 psi@2000 rpm. Took it for a ride. At 95 degrees ambient, motor hot, 80 psi@ 5000 rpm. While sitting at idle, just below 10 psi. I need to double check if fan is working. To be cont.....
