I just bought an 01 cbr f4i from a friend and the bike has had the same gas in it for almost 2 years and i he didnt use a fuel stabilizer. The bike runs great but just to be on the safe side i wanted to add a fuel injection cleaner to help remove any poss. buildup in the lines and injectors to the new tank gas i just filled it up with. Can i use any fuel injection cleaner or are there motorcycle specific fuel injection cleaners cause i have a bottle of STP which is meant for a car. Does any know? Thanks

 

It won't hurt to use it. I've put Lucas injector in mine a coupla times. Can't say if it helped or not, but nothing bad's happened.

 

Just remember most of those bottles are meant for 20 gallons of gas so mix accordingly, most cleaners fire very hot and if you over mix you can wind up with predetonation under stress.

 

I said fu** it and put a whole bottle in. The bottles are actually ment for around a 12 gallon tank, so 6 less gallons will not make a huge difference.

I did the same thing, and no I didn't have any problems.

However I never took my 1KF over 7k while running it for that reason.

I used "Chevron with techron".

I too have dumped a whole bottle in my F2. But, as already stated, I also didn't take the RPM's above 7K.

So for a bike with carbs what should i use.. cbrjeeper what did you use, was it fuel injection cleaner or was it for carb.
