Break Handle Replacement or Repair? Your opinion wanted inside.
Greetings folks,
After a recent crash my break handle snapped. Now to my question.
Should I try and get it welded or pay for a replacement? Here's the pictures:
The metel appears to be a softer metal, almost like a diecast metal. Not entirely sure a weld job would be ideal, but if anyone's welded one before, your input is most welcome as well.
Thanks!

Ouch sorry to hear bout the crash.. As far as the lever goes, it's a soft casted aluminum (usually). It's pretty hard to weld it in the first place and with the little area you have to work with, you'd only really be able to tac it into place because if you try to do a full weld, it'll probably just melt and become a big pain. I'd say you're better off getting another one. That's my 1c about it lol good luck!

DO NOT REPAIR. That is what is referred to as "pot" metal (cheap cast) and it CANNOT be welded. Ever spray WD-40 into a styrofoam cup and watch it disintegrate, thats what will happen when you try to strike an arc. eBay is your best bet, unless someone on here has one, check the classifieds, and post a msg. in the "parts wanted" category. One fellow user sent me both mirrors for free when I needed one. Maybe you could get just as lucky.
