BRAND NEW ALREADY PROBLEMS
OK SO MY 2007 CBR 1000 HAS JUST DIED ON ME. I PUT FLUSH MOUNT LIGHTS ON THE FRONT FINE, NEW BACK TURN STALKS. AFTER I PUT ON THE BACK LIGHTS, IT WOULDNT TURN OVER, THOUGHT IT WAS BATTERY, CHARGED IT AND THE BATTERY IS FINE, CHECKED ALL FUSES STILL WONT TURN OVER, NO PINCHED FUEL LINE CAUSE I CAN SMELL GAS WHEN I TRY TO TURN OVER, ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO START THEN STARTS TO CLICK, NUTHING, TRIED TO PUSH START, BACKFIRED ONCE BUT NOTHING ELSE. PLEASE HELP IF ANY IDEAS LESS THAN 200 MILES ON THE DAMN THING.SO I REMOVED THE STALKS AND FLUSHMOUNTS AND STILL WONT TURN OVER. OUT OF IDEAS, CAN ANY ONE HELP ME.
Battery is reconnected? Kill switch off (run)? All fuses good to go? Not trying to be a smartass, but sometimes I forget the little things.
Just so it's blatant: When you say that it wont turn over, that means that when you push the starter switch, absolutely nothing happens? Or does the starter engage and the engine just doesn't fire?
I'm sure you've done this, but I'd go through and systematically make sure that every single wire that I messed with (when installing the new lights) is connected properly (to the correct wire, solidly, etc.). Once your damn sure that thatwire is good to go and their is absolutely nothing wrong with it, mark it with masking tape and go to the next. Did you use crimp connections? (ack! btw) Maybe one isn't crimped fully, or the wire fell out?

APPRECIATE EVERYTHING- BATTERY CHECKED, I MIGHT HAVE CROSSED THE WIRES WHEN INSTALLING BACK LIGHTS HENCE THE DEAD GUAGE. KILL SWITCH ON RUN. FUSES CHECKED, KICKSTAND UP, STARTER ENGAGES WONT TURN OVER THAN A CLICKING NOISE. DOUBLE CHECKED LIGHT CONNECTED PROPERLY. HAS GAS .CHECKED ALL MAIN FUSES
Not to repeat a previous question but did you check your 30amp main fuse? (its hidden inside of a rubber housing. The fuse outside of that is just a spare)? It sounds like you wired something wrong and it pulled too many amps which may have caused the fuse to blow. Your getting gas and starter is working correctly but your not getting power. All else fails put everything back to stock and tell the dealer to fix it....Thats what warranty is for. GL.
I don't think your problem is in the rear lights. This is a motorcycle, not some xmas tree lights where if one fails, they all fail. These systems are reasonably isolated.
Weak battery.
Weak battery...backfire (has spark).
I readthe posts and I think it cranks and has fuel.Charge the battery and load test it. If it is OK, maybe you just flooded it. You smell gas right? It cranks right? it needs enough juice to fire. Go through the manual and find the flooded engine procedure. You may has fouled the plugs (although with fuel injection I don't know if it can happen. I say it is flooded.
Let us know.
THE CLICKING NOISE COMES FROM BY THE BATTERY
CAUSE I CAN SMELL GAS WHEN I TRY TO TURN OVER,
ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO START THEN STARTS TO CLICK, NUTHING, TRIED TO PUSH START, BACKFIRED ONCE

check that maine fuse that is not in with all the other fuses, that might be the blown one.....one other trick....walk away, leavc it for an hour, go do something else, clear your head, and go back to it....sometimes that works.
