I don’t think I need running lights. They are on right now and show up on the dash. But just my brake light doesnt work.

If you dont need running lights then as Demon says just undo the Orange/White and the Lightblue/White from the connector , as they are pushing power through the circuit, the rear should return to normal

so in theory couldnt I just cut the wires on the harness before the connector?

Yes you could but thats your decision,just make sure its the Blue/white and Orange/White though, if you were to go back to stock though you would still have to do the wiring,was there not a 3 wire option for the flush mounts,

no there wasnt a 3 wire option. I may just buy a new right side blinker and use that connector.

what if I just broke off the prong on each connector that is correlated to the wire I don’t need connected

Yes you could do that, but just remember these wires when uncovered will be live once you turn the ignition on and will have to be capped/covered so they dont touch anything

yeah but the wire would still be in the connector, so, really the connection between the two connectors would technically be a cover
