Default blinker works sometimes

ok this is my first post besides the new members area so ill try my best to make sence. i just bout a 02 cbr600 f4i everything is perfect on the bike (got lucky and bought it from a honda bike tech) except for some reason the right turn signal flashes really fast comparied to the left when it comes on. and sometimes it wont turn on at all or i have to push it over like 10 times before it comes on. they are after market flush mounts... not sure what kind or ne thing, but i took the bulb out and replaced it but did the same thing... n e ideas on what it is? i really dont wanna have to take it somewhere and have to pay a **** load of money for them to tell me it is something i coulda fixed. n e answers would help.

thanx
jeremy

it sounds like it may be a loose connection or possibly the switch is bad or maybe the flasher is acting up. did you check to make sure both front and rear bulbs are working? i know sometimes that on a car if one bulb is out the other flashes twice as fast, i'm not sure if a bike would do the same ting. ya never know.. hopefully it won't cost a lot of $$$ to fix a flasher is like $40 don't know how much for the switch, good luck

YEAH ALL THE BULBS ARE WORKING THATS WHAT PUZZLED ME ON THE FAST BLINKING. THE FRONT RIGHT SEEMS TO NOT LIGHT UP AS BRIGHT AS THE FRONT LEFT. BUT BOTH BACK ONES LIGHT UP THE SAME BRIGHTNESS.

Are all 4 LED lights? Or are the Rear ones LED and the Front one regular old school bulbs? LED lights causees it to flash twice as fast as normal...

You can replace the bulbs to rule out that part.

Like FLYOU, asked... LEDs do not use any of the power the incadesent bulds do to flash, so you end up with no flash at all or a really fast flash. This is fixed by using resistors and could be an area you need to check. The resistor could be coming loose and not putting a load on the flasher.

im not positive about the back lights but the front ones are just regular bulbs... cause i went to autozone and got replacements to see if they would work but they did that same thing. im pretty sure the back ones are regular lights too... im figuring that there is something wrong with the switch.. i didnt know if someone had had this problem before and could let me know what it was...

fixed the rpoblem guys... must be a pretty common problem cause my buddys 06 600 rr had the same problem. inside the turn signal switch there is a little piece of plastic that brakes off and stops the switch from going the whole way over. you just need to take it apart and take out that piece of plastic and throw it away. hope this helps if everyone else ever has this problem
