Bike wont start !!
Hi Guys,
I have a 2005 Honda CBR which i sue for my daily commute to work. The bike never gave me any problems until today morning when it decided not to start.
Symptoms: When i push the starter switch it makes the usual sound of starting but engine never comes to life.
It was running fine on Saturday. The battery is not drained. I have a battery trickler which i connected today morning just to rule out the possibility. Tried again once the battery was fully charged. Gas tank is full.
I live in Seattle, Washington and it was very cold this morning. i have had similar troubles once before on very cold days but on second or third attempt it would start.
Please suggest any obvious things i can check before i take it to a mechanic.
Appreciate all the help
thanks

when you first turn on the key, does the fuel pump prime? you should hear about a 1-2 second long humm, which is the fuel pump priming. If not, check your killswitch and rock it back and forth a few times. Sometimes, they can stick internally.
If it does prime, I'd suspect your have a set of fouled plugs. Especially if the battery was low, and the bike did not crank over fast enough. these bikes need to crank over pretty fast in order to start.

Thanks for the reply ...
Yes. When i turn the key, the fuel pump primes with the long humm. I also tried rocking the bike few times.
The battery was fully charged (i left it on battery trickler plugged to A/C for 5 hours) so i know battery is not the problem. i am going to check spark plugs next. I will be surprised if that is the problem considering i had my bike fully serviced and changed spark plugs couple of months back.
