well think about it....sitting at a light there is nothing going thru the radiator...that fan is actually a joke....doesn't even cover 1/4 of the rad.....and then...what lies directly behind the rad???? 4 very large very hot heating elements......

thats why they invented spliting or white lining.....

actually i looked up the history of white lining here in cali....

was when the bike were aircooled(go figure) they could not sit.....so they made the rule thjat you can split up to 10mph above what traffic is flowing up to 35mph then you have to drop back in line(yea right) like any of us do that unless wee see a cop.....and also there was a foot note to the rule * so the rider does not have to inhale excess amounts of exhaust fumes* I literally went *PFFT*

I moved to Texas from Cali a year ago, at first not being able to split lanes really bothered me but now I'm use to it. I've actually become a much more patient person since I moved.

honestly considered installing several more fans in the front of the rad......but electrical system concerns scrapped that idea....bike electrics are so damned fragile

here's an idea. scrap the inadequate cooling fan, heat wrap your pipes to transfer the heat BACK to the muffler, and replace mini fan with a larger unit that covers more surface area.

The fan isn't inadequate, it works fine. I ride in Texas in the summer when it's 105 in stop and go traffic. It's not a problem so there's nothing to fix.
