The bike was lowered when I got it. I am just wondering what you would gain for lowering a bike. (the only obvious reason for lowering a bike to me is if you are too short and your foot cant reach the ground)

 

Yeah, that's the only reason I can think of too.

 

Other than helping shorter riders touch the ground, it would only help with drag racing. It's a disadvantage for everything else. Honda has spent millions of dollars and many, many years developing and evolving motorcycles into what they are today. Lowering the bike changes the geometry and turning physics that were carefully engineered into them. If the rider is too short to safely operate the bike, then sacrifices must be made. Otherwise, I'd return it to stock height and set it up properly for your weight and riding style.

 

Yah, I can't agree more. I'd like to put it back to stock height. I noticed that the replacement linkage has 3 holes for 3 different heights, the bike is currently sitting in the middle. I assume the top one will put the bike back to its original height. Do I just simply unbolt the middle one and put it in the top? Is the bolt pre-loaded? once in the top position, do I need to adjust the rear shock?

 

so I put the bike back to 'stock', meaning i undid the bolt and put it in a different hole. That raised the bike about 2".

My bike now measured 37.5" from the ground to the tip of the tail. I am not sure if its the stock height, Can someone take a measurement? I have a F4.

 

I think you are where you're supposed to be. I measured my F4 w/ split-seat tail & got what you did.

 

Did you raise the front back up too?

Measure it, but usually you can tell just by looking at it if you've seen a few bikes.
