Default Best way to test fan

I am starting to wonder if my fan is kicking in or not. It's worked before and I've heard it go on before but just not recently.

Had issues of engine nearly overheating twice now. Not even that hot outside. Never had such bad high heat problems...

Best way to go about testing if fan is working?

Most of the fans on our bikes (I'm assuming your talking about the radiatory cooling fan) are controlled by a Thermo-Switch. The fan has 12v going to it and the ground side is attached to that Thermo-Switch. When the switch gets hot enough, it closes the circuit and the fan turns on. You can bypass that Thermo-Switch and just short the leed that goes to it to the frame and see if the fan comes on.

my fan turns on around 213-217 i know because i have an f4i gauge so it tells me the exact temp. Maybe its time for an oil change?, my bike only gets hot if im in the city/traffic and as soon as i start moving faster than 20 it cools down

Best/easy way is to let the bike idle and just watch and wait for the fan to come on.

Easy way to boost cooling is to spray wash your radiator and top up your radiator fluid.
