Thats for the advice guys! I'll do some shopping around on that. One more question...Do you guys use that battery tender JR for your car batteries too? The specs say for all 12 volt batteries, but don't they make just a battery tender? Or are they the same thing?

Thanks,
Ryan

We have cold winters here in New Jersey, and I don't get to ride all the time. I use a battery tender Jr. whenever I think the bike is going to sit for even a few days. It does not hurt the battery to be plugged in. I did have a problem with my 1000f this year, though. I plugged it in and neglected to check the actual connection to the battery. THen, when I would ride it, I would have problems starting. Felt just like a weak battery; but it was the connections that were the problem. Thirty seconds with a phillips head solved the problem. Live and learn.

I keep a regular Battery Tender on one of my cars that only gets driven a few times per year. It costs a little more than a Battery Tender Junior but it charges at a slghtly higher rate.

The Jr charges at .75A and the regular Battery Tender (now called the Battery Tender Plus) charges at up to 1.25A. Also, the Plus has more indicator lights to show what charging stage it is currently in.
